The Time When I Was Upgraded To Business Class

Last 19 July 2019, I was going back from Manila from my trip to Europe. I had a 3-hour layover in Istanbul and I knew the plane was going to be full as fellow Filipinos all across the globe have a layover in Istanbul as this was TK’s hub. I was one of the few remaining passengers who have not boarded because I decided to board late due to the long queue. When I reached the boarding gate, the agent scanned my boarding pass then he told me that I have a new seat assignment… Seat 1E. I was puzzled that time. I was thinking to myself, “Is there a seat 1E in the economy class?”. I even Googled the seat plan of the aircraft and I was surprised that I have been upgraded to Business Class.

I went to my seat looking and I kept my cool since the people in business class were looking at me. When everyone was finally settled, they started giving welcome refreshments to the guests. Followed by handing out the menu by the chefs on board, they asked us what would we like to have for dinner and breakfast. Then the attendant started distributing headphones and vanity kit pouches by Versace Parfums. After take-off, the attendant came back bring a pillow case and a cozy blanket, she started making up my seat and asked if I would like some drinks before meal, I obliged and asked for a glass of whiskey.

I fell asleep as soon as I have freshened up and brushed my teeth. I have never slept comfortably for 7 hours straight in a flight. Then two hours prior to arrival to Manila, they asked if I want my breakfast to be served already, and I said yes, then after a few minutes they served it. They are also serving fresh basket of bread and pastries, smoothies, and fresh juices. You can get whatever or how much you like.

The experience was definitely one for the books!
